Repentance means much more than feeling sorry—it means changing the way we think. Spiritually, it can mean turning from unbelief to faith in Jesus Christ, or moving from a half-hearted faith to becomes a committed follower.
Consider the Parable of the Lost Sheep- the person without faith or the one with a once strong faith that has grown weak. When found by the Shepherd, this one “repents” and is grateful to return, and what is the heavenly response to this “change of thinking?”
Metanoia… love the ring of that word, but even more so, I love the meaning! REPENT! I thank God for His loving kindness in setting up “repentance for us”!
